This is cool way of posting blogs from this tool. I found it on ms site and its client application with very good rich UI.
It supports many windows OS’s from XP onwards
give a try here
This is going to be a good for fellows working with windows server flavors like 2000 or 2003 and especially for fellows running moss, visual studio and other development products where if they could work with multiple views running different programs.
It helps in separating the applications in a easier manner. Its like XP’s powertoy Desktop Manager
Check out this link and try the tool. Real worth
With the emphasis on usability and appearance, the previously simple HTML has become incresingly difficult to read and these days most web pages are made up of a combination of several files and use often use as much CSS and client-side script as they do HTML. Using “View Source” simply doesn’t cut it anymore. Luckily Microsoft has realized this fact and is building a tool to help developers analyze these increasingly complex web documents. It’s called the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar. I’ll give you a quick go thru to this powerful new tool and examine some of it’s most useful features.
Firstly i can be downloaded here though the current release does not support IE8 but users of IE 6 and 7 can make best out of this version. The setup is simple.
In IE 7, the process is similar, but the names have changed. After right clicking on IE’s toolbar you choose “Customize Command Bar -> Add or Remove Components…” in order to get to the “Customize Toolbar” screen. After adding the button to the toolbar, IE’s toolbar should now have an icon like the one shown below
If you prefer, you can click the icon in the upper right corner to detatch the window from IE altogether.
The heart of the program is the DOM Explorer which lets you drill down into a page’s HTML and examine the different attributes and styles related to the objects on the page. So instead of wading through tons of HTML, you simply find the item in the page hierarchy and the toolbar display its properties for you. But what if you can’t find the element of interest in the hierarchical tree? No problem… the toolbar let’s you select a page element simply by clicking on it and then finds it for you.
While the DOM Explorer is the heart and soul of the program, it also includes tons of other useful tools. I won’t go into detail on all of them, but here are some quick highlights. It shows image information, including dimensions, size, and path
It shows outlines around things like tables, DIVs, and images to indicate where those elements are. It lets you manage page caching and cookies for debugging purposes. Finally, it even provides a validation menu to help you validate your HTML, CSS, feeds, and links.
There are many other features that help a developer to make his work more easier and error free and most important point that for troubleshooting
Powershell is a command line environment where it provied many automated comands to individuals to automate and manage various functionality in windows.
There are few examples i wanted to share but since PS syntax is one of its own so i dont want to confuse.
Better to check out yourself. Quest has come with a GUI interface for powershell. It can be downloaded here
Now its possible to access your gmail via a client applications like outlook or thunder bird.
I tired both to know the difference and speed and my vote goes to ThunderBird as its very lightweight and speedy compared to Outlook 2007 or even older version Outlook Express as well
Thunder is really good for accessing gmail, yahoo and even ideal for individuals or very small group who have good internet bandwidth of more than 128KPBS else it may be real slow
Though outlook is not good but great for large group of people, companies where there is own mail server with specific setup. It does have many features that are not present in TB.
To setup your personal gmail with TB using IMAP click here else with Outlook 2007 then click here
i could not resist to share this excellent tool for windows that provided much better speed and control over default copy/psate feature in windows. it is very faster and lightweight tool and can be customized as well.
it can be downloaded from here
i must say this is a good thing for IE users to try a new addin for IE [all versions] by google. I just downloaded it and restarted by IE 7 for testing purpose and really the speed and behavior of IE just got speed up.
It avaiable now so just google search and try it out!
This post is to share few great things to do with tool TweakUI which is one of the collections in XP Power toys suite from microsoft. Click the link to download TweakUI for x86
1. Change Default Locations for documents
The first thing that i did was to change the default location of My Documents which is C:\Documents and Settings\bhavtosh\My Documents
Because windows saves every document [doc, txt, xls, jpg etc] in the above location and many times when i rebuilt my machine with XP; i always missed out taking the backup from the above location and i did lost important number of times
So using tweakui i found a very good way of redirecting windows to map to my custom location for all documents. Just refer to the snapshot below and rest is self explanatory
You can change lot of default places to your custom locations and next time when you open windows explorer you will new settings.
2. Reduce time for right click
Those who like “Creating a folder” using right click a lot but get bored as windows takes time in populating the context menu is because if you have software like office, winzip, winrar etc then by default windows loads all the possible types of “document/files” extensions that you may create using the stated tools. For example see the below snapshot; it shows what i have on my machine
Im habitual of using new option to create folder and nothing else but since i have so many tools and windows takingtime to load the menu; i used tweakui to help me making my right click-new option to come much faster than before. below snapshot will tell you how
There are other things to do as well but i leave it you to explore the power of this tool.
Hope this useful.
